UB Starter woes

Well, the tractor at our show grounds seemed to be acting off when starting and even while running. I had a club member remove the starter and come to find out that the starter nose cone was busted off and rubbing on the ring gear... Now we are looking for a starter for the tractor. Or even just the cast nose cone to replace the one that is broken. We did see that the old one had been welded at some time in the past. It didn't break there but closer to the base of the cone. We feel lucky that the nose cone didn't flip and wedge then bust a bunch of stuff in the bell housing. If anyone might know of something sitting around that we could get please let me know. I don't have the delco number off the body housing right now, but did put a request out to the member that has it in his posession to get it to me. It is a 12 volt unit that we took off. Thanks much.

Thanks for the offer. It sounds like the underlying issue with the broken nose cone was the starter that was on it wasn't all correct in the first place. A wrong drive on the starter shaft would / could bust a nose cone if used enough over the years. Have to love it when little flub ups are found down the road... Love this hobby.

I see this post is a few days old but I would have a complete starter or just a nose cone. 308-940-0255 Give me a call or text if I can help. Thanks Jeff
