302 Hydraulics

I am resurrecting a 3023 that sat for too many years. The hydraulic pump acts like it needs primed.... I have poured oil into it, changed the filter and looked for leaks. Is there some kind of check valve on the pump or manifold? THe oil was clean, so I hate to start taking the pump apart....yet....

Thanks, Marty

I don't believe there is a check valve in them. Is there a way you can plump a fitting in and manually prime it with the tractor off? Could possibly be just enough air in the system that it does what it does.

Tel-O-Flow. When I take the high pressure line off of the pump, it just gurgles and spits. When I tried to pour oil into the intake, it didn't run through the pump. Once I get oil flowing, I should be able to tell it the Tel-O-Flow is working....

Whenever I get one of these project tractors, there seems to always be one more thing........ (I guess that is why I like them.)

We moved the ilter down, hoping to it o prime.....failed. Finally removed the pump and found that when it was put on, it was on a bind and broke the rear seal, so it was sucking air out of the rear end. Ha! If ee had just added another 5 gallon of oil in the rear endit might have worked...
