Will an earlier U narrow front fit a 1948 U ??

Looking to put the narrow front back on a 1948 U that has been fitted with the "wheat land" wide front axle. We found one at the salvage yard that looks like it should fit, but the tractor is the earlier model U with the one piece block and one piece head and screen grill.

Anyone know if the narrow front end parts and frame rails are the same, where this earlier model front end will fit on a 48 with the two blocks and heads ?
Thanks, any advice is much appreciated.

I went the other way with a UTS once. I put the correct 2 block engine in place of the 1 piece block engine that was in there. The bolt pattern was the same on the side of the engine. Everything else fit too.

If you are going from wide front (UTS) to narrow front (UTU), you DO need the narrow front side rails as they are different for the different bolsters.
