Is there an easy way to drain lp tanks? I have 2 projects I'm working on and I need to take off tanks and drain the gas from them. Thanks

All you can do is open the valves and let the gas go. Make sure any wind takes the gas away from any ignition source. Be very carefull!!!!

Are gages and valves available for the tanks. Do they need to be pressure tested and can they be cleaned? Are parts available for the regulators and carbs? Sorry for all the questions I don't have much experience with LP gas

I am curious as to why you want to drain the fuel out of the tanks?
As for cleaning them you shouldn't have to do that. Valves and gauges are still available. Parts for the regulators and carbs are still available depending on what brand you have. Tractor tanks do not need to be pressure tested like the small 5 gallon LP tanks used on gas grills.

If the valves are all in place and the tanks still have fuel, there has not really been much opportunity for tank contamination. LP gas stores indefinitely.

1-m5 tank and 1-G1000 tank. both need gages and bracket welding. I'm not sure how much fuel is in each. The tractors have been sitting for quite a few years. Since I have half the tractor disassembled I might as well work on the tanks also. Thanks for the replies. Dean, I will be calling in the near future.
