UTS Hydraulic's

Does anyone know what the pressure and flow is suppose to be for my UTS? My manuals list's the hydraulics but not the specs.-----------Thanks Dave

No idea about the flow rate. All of the " U " s that I have owned, had around 1000 lbs of pres. Worked fine on my loader tractors too. clint

I wonder what limits the hydraulic pressure to 1000 psi, the pump or the shaft driving the pump? I do not have the original pump or tank I am mounting a Eaton Pump that is capable of more than 1000 PSI it would be nice to go to 1200-1500 psi if possible any ideas? Also I spun a rear wheel hub got another one from STAMM out of Kansas since it is a tapered hub that is not keyed how do you know when it is tight enough I would hate to shrink it on it might not come off again?---------Thanks Dave

Printed specs don't seem to be available. I checked all the sources I have (owners manual, repair catalog, Uni-matic Power books, Dealers Shop Manual, I & T Service book, Motor's Truck & Tractor manual) & specs are not found. U & G used Eaton pump ER1923 (1 1/2" wide rotor), Z & R used Eaton 1903 (1" wide rotor) - these are from 1949 catalog. Of course flow is subject to rotor width & pump rpm. Not sure about pressure control.

Thanks, since I am using a Eaton pump #26006LZJ that is capable of 2500#s and at 1500 rpm,( which is what the pump drive shaft turns at full engine RPM, I built a plate to block the oil and put a hand tac on it) the pump will put out 5-6 GPM, I wonder what limits me from going to 1500 PSI, the pump drive shaft is 5/8" but is keyed with a small half moon key? I am mounting this pump in the original place, so the shaft that drives the H2O pump and distributer will be driving it and none of the rest of the hydraulic's is MM everything is capable of 2500 PSI.--------Thanks Dave

The relief valve to limit the pressure is in the uni-matic Hyd Box under the fuel tank on the original setup. If you are building a system from scratch, you will have to incorporate a relief valve to protect punp and drive. As to what the drive shaft on the "U" will take I have never overloaded it so I don't know. I do know we put a larger live punp on a AC WD and twisted off the drive to the distributer.

Thanks, this is not a MM Hyd. system I guess you can call it custom. The Eaton Pump will put out 5-6 GPM at full throttle I think I will try 1500 PSI what do you think?-----------Thanks Dave
