My son was cleaning up a friend property he just purchased. Found a MM plow setting in the weeds. Its a two bottom trip rope with steel wheels all around. The plow beams curve around down to the shears. The back beam has Moline stamped in it. The whole thing is buried at least 8 inches in the dirt. I have been looking for a trip rope plow, so hope it is in pretty good shape.

Just to add, there were different hitches on the earlier models than the later ones. I think they were changed in the late 1940s.

we have a press wheel grain drill with the "Moline" name on it that my Grandfather used most likely with horses. When did Moline become Minniapolis-Moline for a little history lesson? Some of the old implements seem to be really old and much older than most of us grew up with in the 60-70-80's.

Does your plow look something like this one. I have this three bottom and another just like this one and also a four bottom all in great shape. I was out yesterday just trying to finish getting this one to scour right and get a land shine on it but our ground here is pretty sticky yet and I think I need to find a gravel pit to finish the task since these haven't plowed in I'm sure 25 years. This GP propane doesn't even know the little three bottom is back there. I think it will pull two of them the way it is weighted down with double weights and fluid.

The MM grain drills were built in St. Louis by the Monitor Drill Co. from 1892-1908. The company was then sold to the Moline Plow Co. In 1929 the Moline Plow Company, Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company and Minneapolis Steel and Machinery Company merged to become Minneapolis Moline. The drills continued to be called Monitor drills. The plow beams continued to be stamped with Moline.

The Moline Plow company had been around for a long time when it merged with two other companies in 1929 to make the Minneapolis-Moline Company.
