G1000 Hyd oil in clutch housing

Clutch started slipping on G1000 Vista. Split tractor to replace clutch and notice clutch facing are still fairly good but there is quite a volume of Hydraulic oil on the flywheel and in the clutch housing. Isee there is an O-ring and seals on the flywheels and of course the input shaft of the Ta seal. My question , is how does oil get into the clutch housing? Through the input shaft and will replacing the O-rings and seal remedy it. Ive never seen an oring on the input shaft where it goes into the pilot bearing on a tractor before. Not that familiar at all with MM. Red and green man. Any advice would be greatly anticipated as I dont want to have to do it again. :)

Thank you Kindly

Im not 100% positive but I don't believe hydraulic oil can get in to the clutch area. Ampli-torque / rear end oil is possible.

Its possible that the oil seal in the flywheel is leaking oil. Oil is pressure fed into the flywheel to lube the pilot bearing.

Thank you. ya its defiantly hyd oil. Going to replace the o-rings on the plate behind the flywheel and the o-ring in the flywheel. Also replacing the seal in the AT input shaft housing. Just never seem hyd/trans oil feeding to the flywheel? To lube the pilot bearing I assume and asking for trouble IMO.

Was reading that some have disconnected the oil line that feeds the oil to the bearing. Any thoughts or advice on that and where is it located.?

Thank you

Don't really know of any oil lines to disconnect here. There is an oil line that pressure lubes the sprague clutch... but that has nothing to do with this. Personally, I
think its a great idea to lube a small bearing that is spinning at 2000 rpm. To me, the sound of not lubing it would be a problem. They were sealed in grease in the A4T's
and I have yet to remove one that is not worn out.

Also, I would consider what other factors could have caused the seal to leak such as improper torque adjustment/set-up. Something has likely caused the seal failure.

Thank you for your. Dont think Ill mess with disconnecting any oil feeds. Clutch, Pressure plate and all O-rings and seals. HAVE to make an alignment tool. Replaced 100's of clutches all brands and have never seen a need to lubricated a pilot bearing. A clutch is going to go out before a pilot bearing and I always replace them with sealed bearings when doing a clutch job. Of course the wet clutches are superior.

Im thinking most of the ATs are the same and this would pertain to the G1000 Vistas as well. From what I have been told on other MMs, have it in high range before taking the cover off to replace the seal.

Thanks for that info Alan. Have to get this out of the shop. Tired of the "OMG, What are you dong with that.,I had one of those and I was never so glad to get rid of a tractor in my life" :) Sorry MM fans.

I guess that's OK, some of us don't think much of Red and Green ones. Out side of Cyrus Mc-Cormick, MM has recieved more awards and had more firsts than any of the Red and Green ones.
Also Alan is right, there is no way for hyd, fluid to get in the clutch unless someone pours it in.
