Please help. I have a 1938 ZTU and I'm trying to remove the crank jaw and pulley. I've removed the so called set screw that threads down into the side of the pulley. To me the crank jaw and pulley looks as if it's one piece and I could be wrong. Is the pulley and crank jaw threaded onto the crank or is there a key way and the pulley and crank jaw slides onto the crank?

not 100 percent sure but I think the jaw should unthread like a nut and the pulley is keyed to the crank.

Parts book shows crank jaw and hub are one piece requiring set screw removal and use of a puller to pull hub and crank jaw off crank snout and key. I&T manual states the above procedure also.

Do you know what type of puller I would use? It seems that using a standard puller with the bolt in the center of the puller would work against itself in this case.

Books don't get specific. I've never had one apart but would think the center bolt would react against the end of the crank.

The pulley should pull straight off after set screw removed. always place a flat washer at center point of crank when using a puller.

If the piture posts, I think this is like your hub you're asking about. Be sure to take the set screw all the way out as they in quite a deep hole in the crank.
