UBD Special Pistons

So apparently the UBD Special pistons have to come out the bottom of the jug... The things you learn the hard way.

Only one way to learn. That is the way to hold
the rods and pistons up high to clear the crank
while you pull the jugs. I think you can pull
them out on a 4-5/8" bore from the top,

Can't ever be easy can it lol, at least now you know, keep us
posted on your project show pictures when back together.
Have always wanted a ub diesel. Always thought they were a
sharp looking tractor and like how they sit nice and high

I don't know if going to get restored soon or not, but going to get mechanically sound now. Will be going on a 200 mile or so cruise in July. I don't have any pre-degreased pictures, but was pretty sloppy and LOTS of blowby. More tractor porn...

I have a UB diesel that was totally apart when I got it. I had the original jugs bored to 5.125 before I ever tried putting it back together. I guess the rods would fit through those holes. That idea didn't work out because I couldn't find the right diesel pistons in that size. I went back to stock MM pistons and jugs, and the tractor now runs great!!

Also if the bore is already .060 over and you
need to bore again, G900 4-3/8" pistons work
great for the original jugs, plus adds
compression to help cold starting.
