UDLX Rear Fenders

Attached are some pix of a UDLX that I'm just beginning the restoration on. As you can see, the outer edge radius on the rear fenders has been cut off. The inside edge of the fender is squared not radiused. Since the lower front edge of the fenders has been hacked off and the rear edge is more or less rusted out, I'm going to need to find/make a set of fenders. The outside radius of the fender is about 33" from the center of the rear axle.

Is there another Moline fender that is similar enough to the early UDLX fender that could be used as a basis to fabricate new fenders? What is the overall width of the early UDLX fender (I'm not close enough to anybody that owns one to make the measurement)?

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you on the fenders, but where did the tractor ever come from, what'd they use it for. Never seen one with a hitch like that someone musta rigged that up, do you have the cab for it or didn't it have one? Glad it found a good home and your gonna get it looking pretty.

Got the tractor out of northern California about 15 years ago. As I recall, it was used by a railroad company. Don't know for what but it does have several unusual modifications in addition to the hitch.

Keith,

Lately, the weather here (Oregon) has been wonderful--unseasonally warm & dry (not as warm as Arizona obviously) but I'm sure that will change. From here it's hard to believe all the snow and cold in the northeast and Midwest.
Now about those fenders, surely you can, at least, tell me how wide they should be given the family tractor stash in NY.

Well that makes it ever more rare!! A great find anyway, at least you don't have to try to fix a cab for it too. Does it run and I was wondering what serial # it carries? It will take some $$$ to make it nice again but if that's your home in the foreground out the shop door, I'm pretty sure you can afford to do it up right!! Do you have the front fenders and hood? Keep us posted!

I wondered about that as well. Did they have all the bolt holes on the fenders on the open ones? I haven't really looked that close at them, of course haven't really seen an open one at a show for years.

UTX must be # 12. The first 25 had the flat top fenders with angle iron on inside. The outside rim would be orginally curved like on UDLX. Has original seat. Bumper has been added. May have had a larger cab added at one time.
