G1000....50 years ago.

A friend of mine reminded me that it was 50 years ago that the G1000s came out. Hard to believe that was a half a century ago. I always thought they were a huge beast. If anyone has any G1000s please post some pictures and stories if you have them.

Here is our 1968 G-1000 vista still out working running a grain vac last summer. It makes her smoke and work some too. We bought this one new and it has never left the farm. One of three that we own and still use some. This one pulled a JD 6-16s on land plow for years and a JD C21 24ft cultivator with harrow. Working at full load all the time and never had the transmission cover off or any problem with the torque either. It has been overhauled once and has a new radiator now.

Sorry, the picture didn't go the first time. Hope it does now.

We used to have a vista, I'm still trying to find back, I know it used to scream with the strait pipe, always liked the g1000 and I agree it doesn't seem like there 50 years old.

And here we are plowing under a cover crop with a Oliver 5540 5-16" plow. Which is for sale for $1200 if anybody is interested. (just plow for sale, not the tractor)

What size tires does that have, looks like there kinda close to the fenders, thanks for sharing, nice tractor

This is my G 1000 Wheatland LP Gas. Nothing fancy, plain and simple, tough and durable, it would get the work done.
I am the second owner. Bought the G 1000 and a 5 bottom Moline plow from the original owner in the Oklahoma panhandle.

That's got to be one of the earliest ones made with that grill! Don't see many of those around ever. Do you know what it's serial# is just for fun?

I have vista 34600488 and 34601511. 488 is open station and had the engine replaced at some point with a turbo'ed 451. 1511 has a factory cab and dual hubs.

A few years ago I saw a nice Vista close to the road while driving by. No house there and no one around. I took some pictures, it looked really good and I'm glad I stopped.

This 68 Vista is serial# 00752. We also have #01185-the last one in the book made in 68 it shows, then we also have a 69 #1272 with the closed center and heavy front axel.

Here's 4 G1000's taken at a tractor pull in Texas a few years back.
Our family has 4 diesel row crops, an lp row crop bought new, a Vista lp, a G1000 rice special FWA diesel, and a wheatland diesel.

This was one of the original G1000 factory pullers owned by Brinkmann brothers. It was originally turbo charged alcohol. Currently runs on LP.

Didn't the literature say the Vista treats you with kids gloves?...maybe that is why he looks small.

Here is ours that we just picked up this weekend...... grew up on a G900 but this is my first time on a G1000.
