Did anybody see the latest issue> It talks about a Moline collector. Two items caught my eye. A brown mule with according to the article has a V-4 HERCULES engine? And a A4t1600 propane which has a 20 speed transmission! One of 4 so the article said. Sounds like someone adapted a Road ranger! I don't think there is an Oliver Super 70 propane either!. Maybe a super 77.

Keep in mind the writer is a retired preacher from the city.
Brown Mule with a Hercules - No.
Super 77, yes but on gasoline.
The A4T 1600 with a 20 speed, it sure is factory. 5 speed gear box, 2 speed drop box with a torque amplifier. There is an external oil pump mounted under the oil pan on the motor that lubes the torque. The torque works and holds.
My father bought this at a sale during wheat planting. The local Agco dealer brought it in and dropped it off in front of my fuel tanks. When I went to move it to fuel a tractor I realized it was different. I called my father and asked if he had driven the tractor at the sale. Long silence, he finally said no, but I know the motor is good. He came down and looked at it. He had no idea this is a 20 speed.
This is a picture of it competing in the Lazy Hired Man contest at the K&O Steam & Gas Engine show in Winfield Ks.

I also noticed the Super 70. Figured he screwed up. Ont he transmission, my thought was maybe a Spicier, they made a 20 speed.

Yea I know about the Spicer. I worked with one of the guys that taught the Spicer transmission classes for a while. I had the same thought after I posted.

Is there 3 shift levers in the cab? That would give me way too many decisions!

On a side track, what is a "Lazy Hired Man" contest?

Yes, 3 gear shift levers. The 5 speed on the floor, the 2 speed drop box lever on the right side of the dash and the 2 sped torque which is right next to the drop box shift lever. It is really handy for pulling an 8 ton fertilizer spreader.
The Lazy Hired Man Contest. The tractor driver goes though an obstacle course to get to the far end of the arena. If you will look closely there is a chair in the picture. The second team member is setting in it waiting. When the tractor driver gets through the obstacle course he stops, the guy in the chair gets on a scoop shovel tied behind the tractor and rides it to the finish line. The shovel rider needs a lot of skill. They duck tape their pant legs shut to keep dirt out. You have to hold onto the shovel handle and lean back. The A4T moves fast enough to create a lot of friction and the aluminum scoop gets hot so my rider has to use insulation to keep from burning his butt.

Roger - I noticed in another post you had numerous plows. Would you by chance have a 21" furrow wheel 6 bolt for a Deere 77? Or know of one that is available.
