I am new to MM and have the opportunity to repair broken trans gears in a G1000. Anyone have any tips on dis-assembly or ideas where to get trans gears? It looks like we need to split it to get the bearings loose to allow us to remove the shafts and pull the gears out the top. the top cover has been removed and damaged gears are visible, along with a broken fork. This could be from someone trying to force the shift after the trans locked up, or maybe the broken fork started it all.
thanks for any help.

I should have Any of the gears and forks you need one you get it disassembled. MM had a special snap ring pliers that made the job significantly easier. You may have a hard time finding the tool. Give me a call if I can help you. (507)360-6748 Mike.

Well my mistake, It's actually a G V1. So My problem is a couple of broken trans gear teeth. What would be the chances of buying a good welding rod, and build up that missing tooth. Die grind it back into shape. This tractor will do some pulling and maybe a little pto work but that's it. Any thoughts?

I don't think I'd weld and try to make teeth, I'm sure the gear is a lot harder metal than a weld job, it'll probely work for short time, but I but if you pull it and put stress on it it'll be the end of it, my two cents, I'm sure someone has the gear you need.

I agree, trying to make your own gears is a wayt to cascade the disaster all the way thru the grear train.
