White 2-135 Engine Removal

What is the best way to remove the engine from a White 2-135? Is it best to disconnect it at the clutch bell housing and use the special tool to keep the front pto shaft in place during removal OR is it easier to just remove the engine with the over/under still attached?

If I am to use the tool to hold the front pto shaft, where do you insert it? Any photos would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

There is a threaded plug near the back of the three speed. Its 1/2" or 3/4" i cant remember. You will want to remove engine and 3 speed together, as i dont think you can slide the engine far enough ahead to pull the front section of the pto shaft out of the 3 speed. There is enough room to slide the engine forward to clear the driveline with the 3 speed on the engine. The plug is under the fuel tank youll have to turn the drive line and watch through the hole until you see the spot on the coupling that will engage with your tool. You can make a tool to hold the coupling with ready rod and another threaded plug. Sorry for the long explaination.

Thank you very much for the reply and the longer the better as more information is preferred over not enough.

Also make sure to keep track of the shims under the engine mounts if there are any. I have the factory service manual so let me know if you have any other ?'s
