u hydraulic cap

I am looking for a replacement hydraulic fill cap / dipstick for a U. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Mine has had an external hydraulic tank added and I would like to remove it. The original tank and valve assembly is still used they just put a hose over the filler neck and attached an external tank to it. I was told it was to increase capacity so it would raise a barge wagon.

None of my tractors with that style of hydraulics have a dipstick on them. It is just a plug with a copper washer. Very similar to a drain plug on large trucks or newer tractors. The plug has a hex head and is 1 1/8" wrench size if I remember correctly. Maybe an auto parts store could come up with something.

One off any U or Z will work, even the Uni tractor used that reservoir

I have used a pipe plug for a cap several times. It is regular pipe thread. The correct oil level is even with the bottom of the threads. clint
