G950 and MM disc

Thought I would post a picture or two that I took this fall when moving some machinery. Had to try out the disc and the spring tooth on the 950. Will post them later. Would like to find a larger MM disc with the tandem wheels but haven't ever seen one.

Looks like a 40 plate KA disc with feathering discs. that was a pretty big disc in the '60s. After White got it Moline implements were the first fazed out, enter Cockshutt combines, Oliver plows etc.

I think they sold a lot of these discs. 13' 6" I believe is the size of it. I do have one that is a 12' as well. I agree, White didn't do a lot of favors for MM but most of it was "business".

That's a good picture, sure it pulls it easy, I like the g950, 1050 and 1350 with that grille and the flat front, don't like bubble nose as much. You sure have a lot of windmills by you, its like that about 45 minutes east of me there everywhere. Yeah if you have more please share.

Shoot I would have love to have one for scrap price. I bet that would be quite a load in plowing with a 19 foot.

We have had one just like that one since new in 1958 as I remember when my dad and uncle brought it home from the local MM dealer. It says Krause on the name plate but was red with yellow wheels. Very rugged solid disk in it's day and not a weld on it yet today. We pulled it for years with a bored out hopped up U, then a G and even a G-6 in 4th. It was too small for a Vista so we parked it in the trees until I got it out this summer and put a GB on it for fun. Needs all new bearings but it should be fun to use it again. It's a far cry from the 40' Krause Excellerator we use now. They make some rugged equipment.

Disc and tractor look great, glad you finally got the kinks worked out. A neighbor had a mm disk, I think it was 16', it was similar to yours but with the dual wheels and maybe a bit heavier lift, but it was sold at auction, I don't know where it went. We pulled an 18' john deere disc with G1000's years ago, they handled it fine, I will see if I have a picture somewhere of it.

Nice looking outfit..When Dad got our new 670 MM Super diesel in June 1967 he got a new 14 ft MM wheel disk and a new 4x16 MM plow with it..

When our M-5 MM was in the MM dealers shop we tried out a new G-950 MM diesel..

How did you like the G950? I think they are a blast to drive and very nimble even with the long hood.

We liked it and almost traded our 2 year old G-900 for it..In less than a year after that our local MM dealer went out of business...We then had to go nearly 30 miles to Hammond,KS.

I have one like yours that I have had forever it seams and it dose a great job of leveling, Pulls easy and cuts good. I pull mine with a 1550 Oliver and it just rolls right along with it and the harrow. I have a JD disk that is made the same way as the MM but with 9" spacing its a good 1st pass disk but the MM is a 1st pass and a good finish disk. Bandit
