Minn. Moline Model LA Belt Driven Harvester

I was out at a friends farm yesterday and found a harvester in a tree line. Remarkably, it is in good condition. The Manf. plate said Model LA and it appeared to be belt driven machine that is pushed. It is a steel wheel tricycle formation and appears to be pushed from behind. It has a wheat head on it. I wish now I would have taken pictures, but has anyone have any information on it? I have never seen anything like it (other than self propelled).

This sounds like a Uni impliment on a uni cart. The uni cart was used to store implinets when not used on the Uni tractor system. when it was needed it was picked off the cart with a hoist and set on the uni tractor. It was driven with a belt from the uni tractor.

Is this what it looked like?? I seen this stuff before but most of it is gone now. I have a couple good Manuals because at one time My Dad upgraded the power steering on my M602 with the Power Steering off one of these unit which eliminated the troublesome valve adjustment. It works great(like a car) but has to have the engine running to have any steering.Cleddy

Was there anything else about it you wanted to know? The steel wheels makes the unit look really old but that is optional 3- wheel cart to store the implement on when off the power unit. cleddy
