hydraulic oil in crankcase

Sometimes I think im just full of unique problems. On my 1950 U the bar that holds my cultivator lift in place came off the other day and I did not realize it for a couple days. The hydraulic control leaver is frozed up so when the lift swings forward it pushes the hydraulic leaver to the up position. I used it around the shop a few times moving stuff around the lot and then I realized the crankcase is over full and the hydraulic is low.the weep hole by the water pump seems to have more oil coming out of it than usual. I took the pump off and I cant see anything leaking on the seal. What am I missing or did I blow the seal snd it will only leak under pressure?

Most Us have a breather tube between the tank and the engine crankcase. I am told if you get back pressure in the system it will force oil through that tube into the engine.

better find out and fix it. When dad's Farmall Cub started dumping hydraulic oil in the engine it soon wiped out the rings.

I have seen this in other posts. I am wondering do you think it could have pushed it up the vent when I had the hyd leaver engaged for the two to three hours? I am wondering if I should change the oil and see what happens. I mainly use the tractor to pull grain trucks and semi tractors in and out of our shop when they wont move so I would be able to keep a good eye on it.

There is a screen on the return line inside of the control unit. It can become dirty, plugged and burst spraying oil all over and up into the breather to the crankcase. Take the left side off and if that is the case, solder it and put it back.

The oil could have gotten overheated / foamed and expanded some and went out the vent tube. I don't think it would be the seal on the pump unless it got very hot to damage it.
