Molines used to chop corn????

Does anyone use Moline's to chop corn and fill silo? We used to up until about ten years ago. We don't fill the silo anymore.

Share you fall MM photos!!!

From the 70's to the 90's the cutter either had the 68' Vista or 68' Wheatland G1000 in front of it. A4t 1600 did the pushing and packing up until two years ago, it spun a rod bearing, haven't decide if it will get fixed or not. IH tractor and cutter is from this years harvest finished up a couple weeks ago.

This is the only picture I have on this computer from a couple years ago at my cousins. I did the hauling and leveling on the pile. I have since then taken the fluid out of the tires but was able to pull a full load of silage up to the blower through the mud idling in 2nd gear. My cousin was impressed. I was proud. :)

Got the 1355 on the wagon started corn yesterday, will pull a
few loads, just wanna plow with it and see how it is, probebly
be another month though.

Thanks, one thing I don't like is I put on a factory white quick hitch because I thought it make everything easier to hookup on 3pt, well I wasn't thinking, because my ih plows are category 2 not 3 so I'm gonna have to take off to plow, but that won't be so bad. Have you started harvest yet.

Well the silage is done, my cousins hired it done this year as they figured with the way the weather has been it might be a good idea. It usually took about two weeks for them. Last year I was doing chores while the wagons were unloading so he could chop longer so we got done in 10 days. Im putting up a shop so my time was limited as well. I wouldn't mind plowing with yours either lol. I would like to try out my G950 on the plow one day but I need to get a clutch put in it first.

I have seen several pictures of MM's pulling gravity wagons. What are the gravity wagons used for? Are they used to dump into an auger that fills the grain bins?

You either dump corn or soybeans in them. Can pull them
to elevator and unload or unload with auger or conveyer.
We sometimes pull in field and dump on the go but usualy
set them in yard and fill with grain cart and they sit on top
of our pit and unload slow into auger which then puts grain
into our dryer.

That makes sense on the gravity wagons. Your fields must be close to the grain bins. Some of our farms are about 15 miles from our bins. We have a drive over pit to unload our truck. It takes about 20 minutes to unload a semi. My picture is not a Moline. They could never handle our big grain cart, which even makes our White look like a toy.

Yeah my MM is just for fun, we run the 2-155 on a 13x95
auger and have a 435 case on a 1400 buscher cart and a
1000 buscher cart on our 8360r John Deere, run a 9870 John
Deere combine with a 12 row chopping head, we have about
1000 acres within 3 miles, and another 1000-1300 that are
from 6-20 miles away then we use two semis with the grain
carts, as wagons are to slow, and we run short on hands.
Where are you located, I'm in north central iowa

We are located in Central Texas.. We finished our corn on August 18. It was our best yields ever. Too bad the prices are low. Have a safe harvest. What brand is your 13x95 auger. We have a Westendorf that's about that same size. We turn the big auger (and a drive over pit) with a White 125 or 2-135. The auger is pto drive, and the pit is hydraulic drive. We were going to use a G1000 to turn the pit on a neighbors farm, but determined that the hydraulics were not strong enough. I had hoped to drive the G1000 down the road some. We have about 30 MM's, but most don't get used much. Either a G1000 diesel or M670 diesel turns the smaller auger that loads truck out of the grain bins.

It's a buhler farm king, has swing out hopper but is
underground we have a cement pit so we don't have to swing
it out every time. Our corns a little wet about 24% but we like
to take a little out every night to keep the dryer going, and
yeah prices are defiantly lower than last year.

Our big auger has a swing away also. We have a drive over pit that the truck dumps into, and the drive over pit feeds into the swing away. So we only move the swing away, a few times when we move the big auger to another grain bin. I don't think I have ever taken pictures of the whole unloading setup. I am usually in the field with the combine.

This is the G955 to the wagon, and the G1355 to the Ag Bagger last year. used the same setup this year. Also had an Oliver 1850 with a Cummins to the chopper.

G1355, where in north central Iowa do you live? I have family that lives halfway between Waterloo and Mason City. Considering moving up that way myself. Nice looking tractors you have too.

If you ever want to part with the a4t Im looking for one

Here's one from 2007, Vista and 890 New Holland chopping three rows and from 2004 with G1355 and 1965 C750 Ford. I know it's not corn but here's a fall photo of a M670 and New Holland 718 chopping alfalfa in 2008
