I have a set of heads that fit a U but, there are no casting numbers on them. The only thing I can find on the head is H-C. Just wondering that they are.

Im sure someone else will verify or correct me on this but I haveseen another set like this. They were high compression heads on a GT. Im thinking they are actually off of a KT or MT. I dont know any real history on them for sure but that is what ive seen in the past.

I do not find that head on any of the charts; however; I am thinking that it is a very early head; likely a "carryover" from the Twin City line. The ones I have seen are very low compression by later standards. You can measure compression chamber depth and crossreference that to the later castings and get a fair idea of compression. If head is on engine; measure overall height as the combustion chamber depth is related to height.

My 36 KTA with KEA motor has 1 piece H-C head. expect High back then was in the low to mid 5.x:1 range. Standard compression for most distillate motors and hand crank gas motors were mostly in the 4.x:1 range. Have also seen H-C lettering on big old 6-cyl power units (3x2 heads). Would be curious if anyone knows more history / specs / variations for H-C casting designators.

My Twin City 21-32 and Twin City power unit both have heads with H-C on them.

I'm not sure how I could have forgot that a kt and an mt are one piece heads. I have checked with the guy that has the other set that I have seen that were split heads marked HC. They are on a very early GT.
