I have an m602 with a bearing out of the shaft that goes to the
pto gear train. Think I have to pull the rock shaft housing to
repair is this right and are there anything I should be aware of
before attempting this?
 
You are correct. Take your time, an IT or MM service manual will take you through the steps necessary to disassemble. Without previous experience, I would not undertake this without a manual.
