The original subject was "MM Disc Plow".

have old mm wheatland disc plow with 8 discs, 10" apart, they now are 24" across. various degree settings. this plow is in excellent shape, other than needing paint for sitting outside forever. what's the value of this plow? i quoted the man $600.

Wheatland disc plows in our area were called oneways. That is because you could really only turn the oneway unless you wanted a wheel stuck in your tire. The disc plows has 26 inch discs and were availabe in four sizes with the biggest having a 60 inch cut with six blades. They were basically a plow with round moldboards. Wheatlands were more of the lighter discer style. Have only seen 1 disc plow. Know of several wheatland disc plows in scrap piles. all they sell for is scrap prices.

Wheatland Oneway Discs were called oneways because they moved the soil only one way as opposed to a tandem disc harrow that moved soil both directions out and the rear gangs moved the soil both directions in, or a single disc that just moved the soil both ways to the outside. Had nothing to do with being able to turn with the tractor, however that is an interesting note.

A disc plow only moved soil ONEWAY and was still called as disc plow. I have used several oneways over the years. Best oneway is a MM. IH really gouged and a Massey would never stay in.
