u carburetor trouble.

I'm thinking 1/4" with gasket, 5/16" without gasket.

The top edge of the float should be about parallel to the carburetor top.

According to maintenance section of the late model U owner manual it is 5/16 without gasket. I use a drill bit of that size as my "feeler gauge" to adjust it.

Those are good answers below. just be sure the needle valve fits properly in the seat AND float is against needle valve. I have experienced a needle that is too short and float hit seat assembly instead of shutting off fuel. The Marvel-schebler is a very simple unit. Gap between float and carb. body can be a little different depending on seat and needle. Just keep float parallel to carb body with needle shut off.
