Any M604s within a couple of hours of DC?

I have an M604 in Australia which I am about to start restoring. I suspect it might be the only one in my part of the world - don't know of any others. I would like to look at one in good original condition (or restored) to understand some of the finer detail. Mine is pretty much complete but there are a few minor things missing or changed. I will be visiting my son in DC over the next couple of weeks and should have a bit of time on my hands. I would be prepared to travel a couple of hours or so if anybody has one and would be prepared to accept a visit.

John,
Would you mind sharing the serial number. I'm curious if we can find out how it got shipped to Australia from the production records.

Happy to do that. I won't be home for a couple of days but will post the serial number then. I would love to find out more of its history. The Australian distributor was Gippsland & Northern, a farmers cooperative based in Melbourne, Victoria. They were strong in Gippsland (eastern part of Victoria) as the name suggests, and I suspect it was used in the logging industry in that part of the world. It was fitted with a blade when I bought it sight unseen from a location to the north of far east Gippsland and, rather stupidly, I asked them to take the blade off before transport. It also has three point which is very rare on MMs imported to Australia.

Do you know of any other mm's in australia? I have emailed with a fellow from down under that has an mm g-1000, oliver 2155 and white 2270. The oliver and white are fairly hard to find here in the states and would be considered rare in your part of the world. He said he knew of another 2155 down there as well. Do you know what an mm A4T plainsman is? Supposedly 18 were sent to australia. Have you ever seen one?

As for mm's around dc I cant help you there but there is a well known tractor museum in Virginia not far from DC. Not sure what they have for mm but I hear its worth the trip.

Yes, I'm familiar with the A4T Plainsman. I was surprised to learn that so many had reportedly been imported into Australia. I was always under the impression (and it was no more than that) that they had never been offered here. However, I spoke to somebody recently who has one, so at least one found its way down under. I don't ever remember seeing ads for them, and I've certainly never seen one in the flesh. Thanks for the heads up on the museum in Virginia. I will look it up.

The museum is the Keystone tractor museum in Colonial Heights, Va. its right in intetstate 95. Easy to get to. I have been by many times but have yet to stop. There is a website and some youtube videos to give you an idea of what is there.

Also, I have some scans of 2 different australian white magazine ads I have to get posted here for you. One shows an Australian version of the A4T.
