U302 temp and gas gauge issues

I am using the OEM gauges on my 66 U302. I replaced the temp sending unit due to the original not working. Now the gauge only registered slightly up in the cold band of the gauge after working the tractor pretty hard (I'm sure it's way warmer than where the gauge shows). Any ideas? Maybe I put in the wrong sending unit? Does anyone know which sending unit is correct for the 302? Also the gas gauge bounces between empty and 1/4 tank no matter how much gas is in it. I have checked all of the connections, and pulled the original sending unit out of the tank and inspected/cleaned it, but still no luck. Just trying to keep the original gauges, and know the information is correct. Thanks
 
Maybe your temp. Is right, my 2-155 white gets worked hard and never even hardly touches the green usually stays on white green border, our 70 John Deere is the same way you can work it hard but never gets very warm and yes the gauges work correctly on them, maybe yours isn't reading right though.
