G 705 hydraulic valve leak

The valve on my 705 is leaking very bad around the spools. Are parts available for these? If not the hyd unit is in rough shape anyhow and I had to brace up the underside with angle iron. I am thinking about putting in a different valve. I like to keep things original but that is not always easy. I have an almost new Cross valve I can plumb in.

It just o rings in there for seals. Ive tried to get mine to quit leaking without much luck. If I remember correctly it just a 2 spool gressen valve. I think they still sell similar ones.

Thanks that is good to keep in mind. Mine is a wooster valve I looked at my manual today. It looks like the leak is coming out around the detent adjusting screws.

I also have a 705 that leaks a shower of hyd fluid if you don't have your hand on the lever and make sure it kicks back into neutral after you raise or lower the implement. My valves are aluminum Char-Lynn valves. And I thought all of that series were also. I have replaced the O-Rings with no success. Will be replacing the valves. It's under the seat and no one can see if it is original or not. Better to have a dry clean MM than to have a sloppy original.

"Better to have a dry clean MM than to have a sloppy original" ....I couldn't agree with you more. As always, it was nice visiting with you at the MM show.
