Part number Needed for steering gear housing bottom seal.

Does anyone have the National (or equivalent) part number for the oil seal that is at the bottom of the steering gear housing? This seal is used on UTS/UB Specials, Jets, 302 M5 335 445 5Star 602 670 900 and 1000"s. The MM part number is 10P2702 or 10A6289. I have replaced several over the years and swear I kept a box off one but I can"t put my hands on it. I would disassemble it first and take the old seal to the big city to match it up but I trashed my puller the last time I did one of these, so I got to pick up a new puller as well. Thanks!

My White Seal Cross Reference says the 10P2702 is a Chicago Rawhide # 542797. This number does not show up in the CR catalog anymore. As Joe said the 10P2702 converts to a 31139 or 31147. The 31139 is an open back seal (common type seal) the 31147 has an extra metal shield to help protect the seal lip. Either part should work. The 31147 is a 1/16" thicker (0.375 vs 0.438") but both are 3.125 id and 4.003 od.

Hi GR,

Just wondering if you still have the RD 406 engines you posted about a couple of years ago.

Cheers
