Jetstar fenders

I have a brown Jetstar that is an early 1959. Serial number 3 to be exact. It has fenders on it that are different than models like 335, 445, 5 Star or Jetstar 2. They resemble the mini clamshells of a late R. However they are much lighter built and very bent up. These fenders are bolted to the brackets with two small pieces if C channel sandwiched in between. Thus making the fender sit on the outside of the bracket. This looks factory but I have not found any pictures to verify it. Just wondering if anyone else has one in the same configuration. Also, on my build sheet, it lists an option #11537, which is not present on the options list that comes with the build sheet. The best I can figure is that must be for fenders. Can anyone verify this? Thanks for the help.

11537x is the swinging drawbar option. If you are
missing any other option codes I can probably help
decipher them for you.

I don't know. It just says swinging drawbar in a 1959 "extra equipment" price list. It was a pretty common option on the early Jet Star. It shows it as only used on the Jet Star. Oddly enough that option does not show up in any of my Jet Star dealer order pages only in the "extra equipment" list.

I can't get pictures up from my phone. I will have to email them to a computer and get them up. Yes, it does have the swinging drawbar on it. So that must mean the tractor was ordered without fenders and the owner added them later or when it arrived at the dealer.

When the Jetstar was introduced it was a stripped down model. It had few standard features. If I recall it was a 2400$ tractor. Drawbar,PS,belt pulley,3 pt,hydraulics, were all options.

Sorry it took me so long to get the pictures up. Hopefully it worked! I plan on leaving them on the tractor. I really prefer having fenders. Question being would these be the correct add on fenders for a Jetstar or should it have ones like a 5 Star? Also, is the C-channel spacer between the bracket and the fender original? It appears to be on my set. Thanks!

They almost look like R fenders or fenders from a Case tractor with an MM mounting bracket bolted to it. As far as I know the Jet Star fenders were their own fender. I don't think they used the same as the 335s. I agree, fenders are nice to have. I don't know how JD and IH went all those years without them being standard.

These fenders are different than on the R's. I should try to sand some paint off of them. I did find one at Pioneer power that matched my set. The C-channel on them is what seems strange to me but they look like they were always there. Thanks, Chris
