I have a 425 diesel that may have a damaged bore due to broken rings. I have a replacement piston and rings (standard, can I have the bore enlarged and a liner fitted to allow it to be taken back to standard? Does anyone do a liner for these 425 engines that I could have pressed into place and bored back to standard? No one in Scotland holds spares for MM tractors so I thought this would be the simplest repair option even if I had to get a liner sent from the US, much less shipping than a replacemnt jug.
Any thoughts welcome.

Yes it can be done. Wish I could tell you exactly where to acquire such a thing but I don't know. I've had several cylinders bored to take a sleeve but my local machine shop has always handled those details.

I have had several U/283 blocks sleeved and bored back to standard successfully just to avoid having to find/pay for oversize pistons, just like you are thinking of doing.

I live in North Carolina, U.S., which is about as remote an area for MM parts as Scotland is.

I suggest check around at some automotive/heavy truck machine shops, they usually have sources for "repair sleeves" and know the capacity of their equipment for doing such work.

Toms agridiesel has what u need. Has complete overhaul kits and repair sleeves. Has over as iced pistons on request.
