Identify Engines in MM's

I have to show someone how to tech MM tractors for some tractor pulls. What is the best way to identify some of the lighter bolt together MM engines? For example, MM R and MM Z?

All of the small mm engines look the same only difference in the r vs z engine is internal and its the stroke. no good way to know whats inside, casting numbers will tell you the differences in heads but that is about it. The overhead valve engine could be put in the r and z tractors but is easy to tell the difference.

For the R and Zs you need to know the crankcase casting numbers.

I am thinking that number will tell you if its a EE engine (R tractor-165 cu. in.) an RE engine (ZT tractor-185 cu. in.) or a 206 (ZA or ZB tractor-206 cu.in.) OR at least what it started out as. . . .
