Jetstar Amplitorq problems

I bought this tractor with only one side of the Amplitorq working, then it wouldn't start and I needed to move it. I used the skidloader and it pulled real hard...now it will kill the engine if I let the clutch out, out or in gear. What did I screw up? Is it worth fixing?

Sounds like somewhere in your travels you got it stuck in 2 gears. The amplitorque wouldn't effect towing or pushing.

Which Jet Star do you have? Many differences early to late versions. You'll have to remove the transmission cover to get back to neutral to let it move freely. The A/T will cost anywhere from a few hundred $ to a lot, depending on condition of the it's internal components, no way of telling from here, call us and we can help you, we rebuild many of those every year, or can get you the parts. 920 295 3278, riverdalefarmshop.com

The amplitorque is adjustable.I am not sure of the cause but I got into 8671 that the low side of the Torg had not been adjusted in so long that it actually let the clutch not disengage. I sent to agree with the previous post that it probably jumped a fork and is stuck into gear simultaneously.

You're partially right about A/T adjustment. But, only the high side has an adjustment process available. The low side(early or late) is nonadjustable, worn out is worn out, replacing parts is the only alternative.

Do you have any idea why the clutch on that 670 would not release before I adjusted the ta? It was severely out. Tractor would stop moving forward in low side without a load. Also tightened up the low side on my grandpa's g900. It no longer slips in low or high.

I would think it has to be just circumstance. The only adjustment on the high side is to tighten the clutch pac and is noticable via #'s of "snap" of the A/T lever. The low side of any A/T, TA, Hydrapower, and some others is powered by either a spring/roller assembly or a sprague clutch, neither of which has any adjustment available, no matter which manufacturer is being discussed. And it doesn't make any difference on your tractors, just be very thankful they work to your satisfaction, Dale.
