602 Ampli-torque noise

Found a great old 602LP, EXCEPT the torque is very loud in the low range in all gears.... Any idea what I am looking at?

What kind of noise is it making? Ive found they all make some whining noise, but excessive might be something else. Not sure what would be the problem. It seems they all make noise, some more than others.

My grandpa's 5 Star has been that way for years. The local White mechanic(knows MM and Olivers inside and out) told me the planetary gear cluster in the T/A was probably getting very worn. Still works in low range without slipping though!

All of them whine, but this one is much worse than any of my others. Since the torque are getting rare, I wondered if tearing into it to replace bearings was necessary (or useful).
