I was looking thru our old items in the hedge row and noticed a old spreader dad used in the 1950,s It a old horse drawn spreader that was converted to pull behind a tractor I am hoping to find the model of it. On the front left spindle arm I found the word Moline and part number a1701a Anybody with a clue what model this is? The wood is all gone but it seems the metal remains. It has the f-h wheels on it. Thanks

(quoted from post at 18:54:49 04/07/14) That part number is in the range of numbers used on a LS200 spreader.

I have both the LS 200 and 300 at home. If there is any wood on the sides, the LS 200 was two high. People are under the impression that the horse drawn was only made is the LS 200 model. Where in fact it was also available in the LS 300. You do probably have the LS 200 but I'll look at the casting numbers at home.

After looking at the spindles on both the LS200 and 300. The casting numbers both start with 181. I do believe the same spindles were used on both. If you took a picture it would be easy to identify. Take one from the right back where the chain drive is.

Thanks for taking the time to check your information for me. I took a walk today and took a few pictures, tho I am not computer smart to be able to post them.here is more wood left than I thought. It is two boards high about 17 1/2 inches from bottom of angle to top of board. about 110 inches long from font to metal that holds the beaters. Strange thing is there is a sprocket on the shaft inside the bottom beater that drives nothing. The casting numbers on front are a1878c for the right and a1877 for the left. Hoping to get this old spreader to someone who could restore it instead of junking thanks Bill
