ZB LEAKING COOLANT

I have noticed anti-freeze collecting on the left side of the engine, in the top edge of the crankshaft side cover, just below the water intake manifold, as well as very slowly running down the side of that cover. It is a slow leak and I cannot figure out where the coolant is leaking from. It does seem to start showing up at the base of, and near the center of the two cylinder blocks. There is no sign of water or coolant in the oil. I would appreciate any suggestions anybody may have about where the leak may be coming from, since I am guessing this is not an unusual situation with these tractors. What is the required repair?

Also, is it going to be OK to run the tractor this way, or do I need to make the repair before using it again?

Thanks very much.

My guess would be a soft plug leaking. Only way to properly fix is take one of the two cylinders off. Won"t hurt to run as long as you keep an eye on the coolant level.

It will most likely be a rusted out frost plug. I had to do one in my Z this winter. You have to remove head and one block to get at it and you will need new gaskets. If it is only leaking a little put one of the stop leak compounds in the rad and it will likely stop it.
