Old '47 UTU

I've got a '47 UTU that runs nice and seems in pretty good shape...dyno'ed about 44 horse. It's pretty nice in that it's got Charlyn power steering and live hydraulics and 15.5's on widened rims. Is there much of anything you can to with the old KEF single block/head engine to perk it up a little, say maybe another 5-6 horse?

On one of my old, one piece heads , I had .225" milled off. It added lots of 'kick'. This was done before dino s were around. This was a farming tractor, not a 'puller'. clint

Okay, thanks for the info. I think maybe a little tear down and milling the head and a good 3 angle valve job along with wiping out the ports just might get me what I need. It'll give me a chance to see if the old girl's cylinder bores are worn much too. The tractor never smokes and doesn't seem to use any oil while plowing which is the only work it gets outside of a pull now and then.
