Looking at a G6 Moline, serial number 16101062 that is Propane, but the serial number guide on the side of the page here doesn't show any propanes. Where there propane G6's made? Seems like there would have been. Thanks for your help -

The gas and lp serial numbers are listed together for most MM's. In 1970, a few lp's were given separate serial numbers. I would estimate that more G6's were produced on lp than gas.

I have 2 gvi one restored and another with very low hours that happens to be for sale. If you contact Floyd county historical society in Charles city Iowa. Phone is 641-228-1099. They can set you up with build sheet and answer any questions you may have. They are good people.

Of the 5,587 GVIs produced, records indicate 3,235 as Diesel leaving 2,352 as "non-Diesel", or about 42%. Of this number, I believe most were LP rather than gasoline.

I see far more GVI LP burners than I do diesels...There were two on the Seger sale last Friday and I think they both went for scrap..

According to the GVI parts book, there were only LP and diesel models built. I have never seen a Gasoline one except for one someone cobbled together.

BMG: Upon further review, would agree with your LP number. Only two gasoline ones I have seen were LP conversions. Also no mention of gasoline in literature or, I believe, Nebraska tests. And as brought up, nothing in parts books.
