Wife has inherited her late Father's U and I am not familiar with M&M hyds. Will U hyds work on a standard 2 way cyl? IIRC M&M cyls had "built in" relief valve? thanks, john

You will need to use an MM hydraulic cylinder with it. There are check valves in the cylinder that hold the load. Most of them have the check valves in them although there are later ones, mid to later 1960s, I believe were made by Cross, they don't have them. They look like a regular cylinder with 4 long bolts holding the end caps on the barrel or bore.

An alternative is to plumb a check valve in between the cylinder and the control valve. I think Welters (417-498-6493?) sells them.

because of the design of the control valve, there is no pressure on the lines except for when the cylinder is moved.
