Does anybody know how to remove the crankshaft pulley on a MM-G? We have tried everything but the pulley will not budge. Heat will ruin the seal. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

put a gear puller on the pulley and pull it tight, but not enough to pull the gear off. hit on the end of the gear puller shaft where the nut is with a hammer several times then retighten the puller and repeat several times. take your time and go slow. excessive pulling with the gear puller will break the pulley!!

I had the same problem. I heated the pulley slightly, but not so much as to affect the seal. Then sprayed PB Blaster on it while hot and repeatedly as it cooled. It seemed to draw the penetrating oil in as it cooled. Then it came off with a puller. Jim

I had to remove one on my M5 but was replacing it. I ended up drilling 3 holes in it, tapped threads in them and used a puller. I don't know if that would affect balance on the crank if you are reusing the pulley though.
