Energy Yellow

I am getting ready to paint the wheels on my 66 U302 and wondered if anyone had a good paint formula for Energy Yellow. I have a friend who mixes the paint for me, but the yellow he thought would be a good match had too much of an orange tint. I thought if someone had mixed that color before and had a good match it would save him time trying to get it right.

I think its the same as my U302. JoePro said Case IH federal yellow is a very close match. I gave my paint guy a side panel and he is going to shoot it with his camera to get the color. If he comes up with a good match I will post the formula he used. He is pretty good so I should have something next week.

I was looking for yellow paint for a U-302 and M-602 and went to a local well stocked paint store and they took a picture of real good spot where a decal peeled off and they mixed a sample and it came out just like the older dark gold. I could never tell if they used the photo or just got tired of trying and mixed what was listed on the computer. A place in Denison,Ia claims to have all the original codes and they guard them closely. I drove way over there and bought the PG Energy Yellow and Dyna brown and it does look pretty good. I was hoping somone would post the codes so when I run out I could avoid the trip.

Your tractor looks great. I hope he comes up with a good match. He did a great job mixing PG2 for my UB. He mixed it Ina single stage paint. He has the brown for me to look at, but I haven't been able to pick it up yet.
