I'm switching from a mag to a distributor on this 206 engine . Do I have to change the drive? Thanks for the advice on the crank installation. Jeff

You will need to change both the distribuitor gear and the mating drive gear on the camshaft. For battery igntion, both gears will need to have 16 teeth.

They had 12 and 24 teeth for the magneto.

You may have to change the socket on the end of the distribuitor shaft to accept the distruibuitor too.

There are distributor drives available that directly replace a magneto if you are not concerned about keeping it original. The ones used on Farmalls and AC tractors have been used on MM"s.
