Clutch on a 445

Anyone out there have any advise or words of wisdom on splitting a 445. I recently lost the clutch on mine and I have never split a MM. I am planning on blocking up the back of the tractor and using an overhead chainfall to move the front of the tractor. Is there anything I should watch out for, or anything else I should do while I have the tractor apart? TA works good. Thanks for any and all replies. Ted

is it a wide or narrow front? I always leave the front stationary and use a long floor jack under the rearend and roll it back. If it is a wide front use a bottle jack under the engine chock the front tires and wedge the front axle with wood blocks so it cannot swivel left or right. If it is a narrow front I make brackets to bolt to the bell housing and block them up to keep from tipping.

It is a wide front. You think I would be better off to block up the front and move the rear to split the tractor. Thanks, Ted

You can still put the chain lift on the front as a safety precaution. Back wouldnt be as "tipsy" to move.

As for splitting the tractor, I have done them both ways. For your tractor it's just as easy and safe one way as the other.

Replace the pilot bushing in the flywheel, clutch disc and pressue plate as well as the throwout bearing and grease hose.

If your AT works good, then I wouldn't mess with it, but if your having issues with it, now is a good time to repair them.
