UB hand clutch?

As far as I know all of the UBs had foot clutch. Unless this was something that was reworked to use as a hand clutch. Do you have a serial number or picture you can post?

It has a foot clutch, and if its equipted for a live pto, thats the purpose of the hand clutch.
Massey Harris had aboot the same set up on some of their tractors.

The lever disengages a clutch, dropping power to the left wheel to stop forward motion while keeping power to the PTO. This was called live power lever by MM, although it was not truly live power by later standards.

Here is a photo.

Similiar setup was still in use as late as the G705 I'm sure as a Massey 97 I used to run had the same lever, only on the right side.

I had that on what was supposed to be a 1944 U (no place to look up serial numbers at that time) and it has a disk brake in it and I guess on the UB the disk brake worked but it would not on that U, something about the linkage. At that time weighing about 130# could not tell you were trying to put the brake on, the droum on right side worked good. Dad at 220# could not standing on that brake get it to hold. So the point is make sure the brake works before you depend on it.
