Question about U starter ring gear

I just split one of my UTS tractors because ring gear badly worn in that one place. I looked in IT manual and it says to put new ring gear on with beveled teeth to front. I was just going to flip the ring gear over, will this work ok or problems with starter engaging? Thanks in advance.

You could just rotate a 1/4 turn so it wouldn't fire in worn portion.

thought of that but it is badly worn, starter will not engage the worn teeth at all so it may just spin until it gets to bad spot then stop turning over on start up.

Although most might be worn another option might be to find a whole flywheel with a decent enough ring gear on it, since it is a U, Im sure there are a few out there yet.
