Hercules ZXB Engine manifold repair

I would like to repair a small hole in the exhaust manifold near the exhaust pipe connection. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Clean the area with a rotary burr. Start the engine, get it hot, shut off and weld with Cronatron #211. You will have a nice clean weld and no stress cracks. if the hole is on the bottom this won't work upside down. In that case I woul take it off get it as hot as you can in the oven. Brazing over time releasees itself from the pores of the cast that is used in manifolds.

I guess I got my message out with all the repeats. After I completed the reply, I hit submit nothing happened did it more times, nothing. Maybe the problem is with my browser? Got disgusted went back to the site and the reply was there six times. Sorry fellows. Went to edit/delete could not find anything there that would delete anything. This computer is not an MM so I know just enough to be dangerous.

Stan,
Repair on any cast iron is best done with
O/A , cast iron rod and flux , it is a permanent
repair. Brazing is the second choice, but it will
loose sometimes. The last and worst choice is
any form of arc weld. Send me an email if you
want to chat about it .
