If it is a later model U with the clamshell fenders with the adapter plate they will work, as will the ones from ZAs and ZBs and some later GTBs with the clamshell fenders. The clamshell descpription is because of the 5 ribs on the surface of the fender. The previous ones were smooth. Where are you located? I may have an extra set or two if you dont find any good ones.

Would they not be at the same time? they are the same fenders with different brackets. I owned a 1951 UTS with ribbed fenders a while back.

I agree Marty. Ribbed clamshell fenders came out mid to late year 1950 on R through G series(smaller 3 rib version on R of course). I have seen many.

Books do not identify actual change. We have no UTU all UTS in Canada. Checked my UTS's 38-44 round over fender like UTU. 45 to 50 UTS smooth. I don't have a 51 but 52 UTE has ribbed (10A1811)Possible UTU and UTS and UTE used different similar to GTBD and GBD and the specials. 1953 U diesels ribbed as well as 1958 UTSD-M have ribbed. RTS did not use clams until last years. My 1950 and 51 has old style. The Z series I don't want to touch!
