Wagner WA-4 Tractor (not sure where to post)

I know it's rare, which is why im putting it out here. Found it in craigs list, Lansing, MI.

Is this guy asking too much? I personally am not in the market, but if its a rare bird then he may not be too far off, right?

It looks like it's part of an old piece of mining equipment. "Wagner" is normally known for manufacturing mining equipment. As to value that's hard to say, it would depend upon a persons needs & what they planned to use it for.

Try the John Deere board, Wagner built the early 4x4's for Deere & Co. I saw some of these still working in Montana & North Dakota in the mid- 1990s.

Those old wagners were the grandfathers to the Big Bud tractors, most old wagners were repowered with larger engines and probably still working the wheat fields of Montana. The book "Ultimate Tractor Power II" has quite a few pictures and information on them.

Here is a picture of a tractor my Dad built in 1961. It had a 250 Hp 855 Cummins engine. He bought the largest MM field cultivator, I think it was 24 foot at the time. Sadley the person who bought it from Dad sold it for scrap a couple years ago.

Your Dad did a great job on that tractor, for 1961, that was a huge tractor. Looks like he had an A4T before MM did. Sad to hear it was scrapped.
