Jet Star Transmission

I have a 61 Copper colored Jetstar and it is very difficult to get into gear. It is somewhat easier when the torque it in low range, but still requires a lot of pulling or pushing to get into gear. This is true of all gears, not just one. However, reverse seems the most difficult. Any ideas?
Thanks for any help I can get.

Difficult to move the gears or are they grinding? If grinding it is likely that the clutch disc is hanging up on the shaft and not releasing well. This could be due to rust/crud built up on the shaft, or the hub could have worn into the splines on the shaft.

Does it feel like it's difficult because the gears are meshed together and they don't want to let go? That is, when neutral is a achieved, does the tractor then move a little as if you pushed in the clutch? If that's the case it could be old cold grease/oil in the transmission or the TA compartment. If not it could just be mechanical. The shift rails, springs and detente balls could be all gooed and rusted up from years of condensation.
