U302 3 pt lift question

I recently bought a White 348 3 bottom SAR full mount plow.
The plow weights approximately 1200 pounds. When I hooked
it up to my MM U302 and tried to lift it I found the 3 point hitch
wouldn"t lift the third bottom more that 1-2 inches off the
ground. The 3 point arms were only about 1/2 way up when
the lever started to squeal. Should the 3 point be able to lift the
plow completely, or is this plow just too heavy? The 3rd bottom
is almost 10 feet back from the tractor.

Do you have enough oil in the system? It should lift it with no problem. Should be able to lift the front end off the ground if the rear load is real heavy. Fully mounted plow? 3pt only and no rear lift wheel? You can adjust the 3rd arm. Is it possible the lift arms were rotated a notch?

Yes, it"s a full mount (3 pt, no tail wheel) plow. Hydro fluid was full. I do have a couple small leaks. Lift arms do go higher with lighter 3 pt tools. I just bought the U302 last summer, and am not real familiar with the hydrolic pump, or capabilities.

I do, but getting ready to drive to the in-laws in Cleveland for the day. I will try to post it tonight, or tomorrow morning.

Here are pictures showing maximum lift before the lever squealed. It's hard to see, but the lift arms are only at a 90 degree angle to the ground.

Sure sounds like your pressure relief valve is making the noise. Have you checked the system pressure? That is a very nice plow. Hope you can make it work.

I would agree that your relief valve needs to be adjusted. Back in the late 70's when my U-302 Super was the main tractor on my farm I pulled a fully mounted MM 4-14 plow and a mounted 13' White Field cultivator with a lift harrow on it. I used 4 front weights and the front was still plenty light with the field cultivator lifted.

This isn't going to solve your problem. Might make some difference. But you top link is adjusted way too long. I see it is an after market top link, not an MM original. Most after market links are too long.
