G-1000 Diesel turbo set up

I'm looking for a turbo set up for my G-1000. If anyone has one or could steer me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Here's a setup I found somewhere on the Internet but think its on a 585 though not a 504, gives you an idea how the mount it

Can you post a picture of it, I've heard of them, but I've never seen one, know they usually sell pretty high.

That is indeed a custom setup on a 585. Shep from Virginia custom built that setup for his G-1355. I can't remember where he got the actual turbo but it didn't have anything to do with MM or White as I recall.

I don't know. Sheep hasn't been on these boards much the last several years. Seems like he disappeared right after he turboed that G-1355 so I really don't know how well it held up.

There's a guy with a g1000 that put a turbo on his he is about an hour north of me, talked to him at a tractor pull one time he said he wanted to use it in the field but he said he put a pyrometer on his and anytime he used it on a plow or tillage equipment it the pyrometer went way up, he said he didn't want anything to happen to it so he just pulls with it now, think he got second the day I watched him, don't know what kinda turbo it had though

I sent Shep pics of our 2-150 that we put a turbo on. He changed his design a little. The turbo he had was off a IH 466 engine. We have a TO4 on ours. The 2-150 is cranked up all the way with the stock pump and has lived for many years that way.. Probably around 225 hp. Shep was running around 180 if I remember right. The pulling tractor (Oliver 2155) runs around 325-350 Hp. All we did was make a flange and welded it to the manifold.

Did you use that in the field or just for pulling, and I hear people usually have to change the clutch to a 2-180 clutch because the factory one slips out, did you have to or was the factory one just fine.

I have a vista , with turbo, jus drilled maifold an bolted a flange to it..figured welding the plate , jus crack.cause steel cool at different rate than manifold does..so i bolted on..run over 40 p.s.i. have ran 1600 degrees extemp.on pistons i took out our massy 97 an put in my vista...

The tractor gets used in the field and for some farm pulls. We put the 2-180 clutch in it over 12 years ago. With a heavy duty ppa the clutch would still slip some.

Turbo a Moline engine you run a high risk of destorying it. the crankshafts weren't really set up for turbos. not enough main bearings.

The 504 that was put in the A4T-1400 was designed for continuous work with a turbo, but not many of these engines are probably left. I think many of the 1400's were upgraded to the 585's.

I have an M&W set up on my G1000 and it works well! It will put a Farmall with a V8 diesel to shame at the pull. I can also pull my riper shanks all day long with out over heating and pull the front wheels of the ground in the tuff spots!
