I have new ones from Agco these have a metal fire ring. The book does not mention re torquing. I was told that composite gaskets qill get tigher? Anyhow is a retorque needed for this particular gasket? Sorry for what is problably a riduculous question I just want to do this right. All surfaces have been decked.

It can't hurt to. After installing the heads, I'd go through the torque sequence once with a torque wrench, and then do it again to double check. After you get it fired up and run it a little while to get some heat in the cooling system, I'd pull the valve covers and re-torque the head after a period of time following the right sequence and maybe check the valves for the right lash too while you have the covers off. A dyno works great for this but not everyone can get to one.

Thanks for the help. I will do that. Maybe this time they will hold I have the offset wrench now also that might have been some of my problem.
